dream of dancing

Revisiting some dance pieces I love. The first two images are from Inbal Pinto's "Shaker". I saw the piece last year in Pittsburgh and it was amazing. They're a really creative dance company from Israel. The second set of images is from Trenton Doyle Hancock's collaberation with the Austin Ballet Company, "Cult of Color: Call to Color". Never saw it but the costumes and set design looks awesome. I would like to do something like that one day. Those are probably the best dance costumes I've ever seen.

Attn Pgh Ladies:

Casablanca, the Mediterranean/Middle Eastern mish-mash store next door to Avalon is going out of business. EVERY. THING. MUST. GO. They have some great leather bags there that started at 350 - 250 but are now 60% off. I got this one for $120... what can I say, I have a soft spot for good luggage.

They also had some in black, various sizes, and some awesome carpet bag ones with a fabric panel on the front. Just saying, if you're interested, head over quickly.

There are also crazy mirrors, lots of decorative boxes, lots of furniture/dishware, hookas (to lure young male college freshmen to your lawn).... I think I'm going back for an end table.

get it!

Museum of Contemporary Art's 30th Anniversary Gala

Lady Gaga playing on a Damien Hirst customized piano. A performance piece conceptualized by Francesco Vezzoli.
I'm sorry who the fuck still cares about Cory Kennedy.
And who cares about The Cobrasnake, plus one. And I guess they didn't get a memo that this was a gala, not a coke den.
Pharell Williams and Takashi Murakami. What is happening to the art world???

also go check out the video from it.

what the fuck is up with Lady Gaga's accent? I thought she was from New Jersey, or by there. Faker.

minimalism, say wha!

for the days i feel artsy minimalist (balenciaga)
this is what I'll paint in. I true test! (Carcharel)

the everyday uniform (Celine)

P.S. I thought of the best art assignment, if I were a painting teacher, when I was high last night. Every week for the whole semester the students, including boys (maybe they could paint their toes, but that's easier), would have to paint there nails differently. At the end of each week the students would document and by the end of the semester they'd have this awesome photo book. But, the catch is and why it would be good for a painting class is that if they can paint their nails, including right hand, flawlessly by the end, then they will have the steadiest hand. When actually painting they'd be able to paint anything! It's all about the steady and controlled hand. Of course I would only think of this when I'm high, but I think it's an awesome idea! I'm going to do it myself! Right now I have magenta purple interchanged with a green pewter color. Before I had deep red with dark gray at the tips, and before teal.

prime example of why i love NUMERO magazine

matohu

Scanning through runway pics from Japan Fashion Week. Nothing extraordinary, really, I was kind of disappointed. However, I like these things from matohu...

Those socks.

That coat.
That necklace!

ecosphere from Viva Terra

I guess I'm just recently obsessed with living things trapped in jars.

"An entire self-sustaining ecosystem thrives within this attractive hand-blown glass sphere: Plants, live shrimp, algae, and microorganisms. It requires only indirect light and moderate temperatures, and offers hours of fascinating viewing. Each EcoSphere comes with a handbook that explains how it works and how to care for it."

PS: the terrariums are growing like crazy.

Some gems I have found in my online real estate hunt:

Those gold things? They're gilded vertical blinds. Also note the red carpet, red walls, red ceiling. Why are people in Pittsburgh so into painting the ceilings?

Charles Manson shit.

Yeah. I'm going to see this one in person, hopefully.

I also really like seeing people's reflections in mirrors. Or catchin' 'em on Google StreetView.

yes

Such a good idea!

OH, EM, F'IN, GEE

house of gaga

one word amazing.

auction, what we ended up getting

It was brutal, let me tell you. Every clothing item I bid on I was way over bid. The cut-out dress ended up going for 500, 300 more than the estimate. Those snake rings went for 900 (gasp!), 800 over the estimate and they aren't even real gold. It was insane. There were two ladies there who were vintage buyers, the one ended up with almost every purse up for auction and many of the pieces I wanted. fucker. so, my mom and I bought handbags.
a chanel tan quilted bag
this was the steal, brown gucci bag with enameled lion heads

maybe next time I'll have more money to spend...or maybe there won't be as many buyers. they literally embodied the name of this blog, " All I want is everything"

Tiny Terrariums

I posted this link on facebook, but just in case you missed it I'll put it here again. Really fun, easy project. I'm kind of surprised at how much I am into them - I can stop examining them everyday.

Ms. Daphne Guinness

Daphne Guinness' b-day was a few days ago. She's been on my mind since then. Can we talk about how awesome that loveseat is?

wonderland magazine

Wonderland Magazine, "Explorer"
photographed by Matthew Brookes
styled by Bruce Pask

the agency i work at represents Matthew, and his work is stunning. this is a new story he did that just came out, for Wonderland Magazine, a london-based publication. this spread is very much styled, but somehow not overly styled. the color in these images is what i long for.
